Pork Satay on Taco Recipe with Circulon SteelShield

For marinating pork

  • 500 g pork neck
  • 1 tbsp chopped galangal
  • 1/2 tbsp chopped lemongrass
  • 1/2 tbsp roasted coriander seeds
  • 1/2 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1 tsp curry powder
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp ground pepper
  • 2 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 1 tbsp light soy sauce
  • 100 ml coconut milk

For peanut sauce

  • 150 ml coconut milk
  • 1 tbsp Massaman curry paste
  • 1/2 tbsp red curry paste
  • 1 tbsp coconut sugar
  • 1 tbsp tamarind juice
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 10 tbsp grounded roasted-peanuts

For tacos

  • 1 pack of tortilla
  • 1 bowl assorted salad
  • 1 chopped red onion
  • 2 sliced cucumbers
  • 2-3 chopped corianders

For pickles (Arjad)

  • 100 ml vinegar
  • 5 tbsp sugar
  • 1/8 tsp salt
  • 5 cucumbers
  • 1 coriander
  • 1 long red chili



A. Marinating pork

  1. Roughly pound coriander seeds and cumin seeds, then add galagal, lemongrass, pound them well and put it aside.
  2. Mix curry powder, turmeric powder, sugar, salt, pepper, oyster sauce, light soy sauce, and coconut milk all together in a bowl for marinating.
  3. Add the paste from no.1 to make marinating sauce.
  4. Put pork neck in the bowl, marinate for about 30 minutes.

B. Making pickles (Arjad)

  1. Poke holes all over cucumbers.
  2. Mix vinegar, sugar, and salt together in a pot or a chef pan, use light heat to melt the sugar. The taste should be sweet and sour.
  3. Add corianders, long red chili, and cucumbers and close the lid. Turn off the heat and let it cool down.
  4. Slice the cucumbers and put them back to the Arjad.

C. Making peanut sauce (Satay sauce)

  1. Add coconut milk to the chef pan, once it boils, add massaman curry paste and red chili paste. Stir well until cooked.
  2. Seasoning with coconut sugar, tamarind juice, and salt. Or adjust the ingredients to match your preference.
  3. Simmer the mixture until the coconut milk starts to float up during boiling. Add peanuts, stir well and put it aside.

D. Preparing tortillas

  1. Use medium heat to heat up the pan. Apply oil to both sides of tortillas. Once the pan is hot, grill each side of the tortillas.
  2. Fold the tortillas and cool them down. Put aside.

E. Roasting pork

  1. Add the pork in the pan and close the lid. Use low heat for about 15 minutes. Do the same with the other side.
  2. Roast the pork until it’s cooked well. If it becomes too dry, add slightly more water.
  3. Slice the pork.

F. Serving

  1. Put salads, pork, pickles, cucumbers, and red onion in a folded taco.
  2. Put peanut sauce and Arjad and top with coriander and chili, then serve.
