Pizza is a well-known and beloved food from people around the world. It has a long history, originating from Italy. Over time, it has developed into a dish with countless topping and taste options, making it a top selected meal for any event or gathering.

Making a pizza is not actually that difficult. One of the keys to a delicious pizza is a perfectly made crust, even though pre-made crusts can be a convenient option that you can find in any store or supermarket. But there's no comparison to the taste and texture of a crust made from scratch.

Here's a simple and easy recipe for delicious homemade pizza dough

Pizza Dough Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 teaspoon active dry yeast
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 cup warm water
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Directions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, dissolve the yeast and sugar in warm water. Let sit for 10 minutes or until the mixture becomes foamy.
  2. Add the flour, salt, and olive oil to the yeast mixture and stir until a dough forms.
  3. Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead for about 8-10 minutes, until the dough is smooth and elastic.
  4. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with plastic wrap, and let it rise in a warm place for 1-2 hours.
  5. After the dough has risen, turn it out onto a floured surface and divide it into two equal parts. Roll each part into a ball and let it rest for 10 minutes.
  6. Preheat the oven to 450°F (230°C) and roll out the dough to your desired thickness.
  7. Add your favorite toppings and bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown. (Topping idea: Seafood Pizza)
